Poison Apple

Don’t Read Poison Apple If… 🍎

…you want the great declaration of love in Book One.

Poison Apple is the first course of a five-course menu, and it starts with the amuse-bouche.

Don’t read it if…

…you expect a six-foot-six Viking-on-Harley president to say “I love you” before he’s even figured out why a little boy in a hot-pink sweater with a kitschy Walt Disney princess print can turn his armor to mush.

Don’t read it if…

…you want a heroine who falls into his arms. Annika is a single mom in a German industrial town, running a beauty salon, raising a two-year-old, and trying to stay afloat after losing nearly everything. She’s sharp, stubborn, and fiercely protective of her son, and she does not make it easy for him. She doesn’t melt. She argues, and she eats.

Don’t read it if…

…you want a heroine without baggage. Annika’s past is heavier than she lets on, and Book One only opens the first door.

Don’t read it if…

…you can’t stand slow burns. Here, attraction comes first. So do suspicion, sarcasm, a lot of very good food, and a man who keeps showing up at the worst possible moment.

But read it if…

…you like your dark romance set where nobody expects it: in Germany’s industrial wasteland, with dark humor, a toddler as adorable chaos, and a cliffhanger that will make you want to throw things.

The poison apple never tasted like danger. That’s the whole point.

The slow burn takes its time over the whole series, and the later courses are worth the wait.
